Drawing illustrate the wiring of signals to the HGE-23 Signal Maintainer.  With Vertical, Target, B&O or Pennsy style the wiring is the same.  With B&O or Pennsy style there is two LED's per color and each color is wired so both LED's are connected to the respective wire from the  HGE-23 Signal Maintainer.

With Searchlight signals there is two wiring methods.  The first method used LED's which have 3 wire connections, one being common and  the others for Red and Green.  By using this type of LED all the colors can be achieved (G,Y,R).

The second signal type uses an LED which only has 2 wire connections.  This type of signal can on display two colors (G,R).

Signals can be placed as far away a 200 ft from the HGE-23 Signal Maintainer when using 22 ga. telephone wire.  A local hardware store usually carries this type of wire and comes with 4 conductors in the cable, usually red, green, yellow and black coloring.
