Page L1 Wiring The Logic for the HGE-23 Signal Maintainer >> BACK Understanding the Logic method will explain how to wire as many Input conditions you want for the control of a given signal or signals. The drawing show how the Diode is used in logic of the system. Diodes are used to prevent feed back to other signal maintainers when a single input is used for many signal aspects. This is a Simple example of how the Signal Maintainer is wire from the input sources. Note the 2nd reference is actually the same set of contacts providing information to two different signal aspects.
The Diodes prevent back feed to other signal inputs when the source for the Logic Negative power is from the same input as shown for input from the 3rd Distant Block Detector providing a SLOW approach Yellow at signal 1. The diode prevents the logic signal going back to the Red Aspect of the 2nd Signal input. This Logic Blocking allows many input source to a signal aspect without the need of relay contacts or switches. A single block detector or turnout contact can provide the Logic input for many signals for the aspect condition desired. With the HGE-23 Signal Maintainer a RED input Logic is the priority condition and even if a Yellow input logic is present the The HGE-23 knows to make the signal Red. If neither inputs for Red or Yellow are present the Aspect is Green. Go To INDEX Previous Page Back to Signal Maintainer information page
