Wiring for a Station Stop These instructions and drawings are to supplement instructions included with the unit. For the station stop the throttle will be used to control the train around the trackage. The control wiring will be the same as if the unit was being used for a reversing device. The H connection is the common point of the contacts, the G connection is the Normally closed point. When the Unit is not powered the train will continue to move through the station without stopping. By connecting the wiring in this manner the unit can have dual uses . In a relay the common connection is the point contacts which moves between the normally open then to the normally closed positions. The jumper wires on the component side of the board need to be cut. These jumper wires were for the reversing unit installation. The distance of the station stop gap to rail should be long enough so the engine will have time to stop. After the sequence of the unit power is restored to the gap section of track adjust the trim pots so the engine and will have power long enough to moved out of the stop block. But adjust the second trim pot so the power to the stop block stays off until the engine makes the loop through the track. If the train takes longer to transverse the loop then the timing the engine may stop at random sequence. And then you can adjust the timing to suit your needs. |
